What’s the worst thing that can happen?

When you are at the sewing machine know what has to be done in that moment. No guessing. No hoping.

In my workroom you’ll hear me saying a lot:
“Come up to the table and let’s have a look”
“Come up to the table and let’s repin.”
“Come up to the table and let’s have a look at the sample”

Do your thinking and pinning at the table or the ironing board and check
… Yes, I have the sleeve in the right armhole
… No, I don’t have 2 left legs
… Yes, I do sew as far as the chalk line
… No, I haven’t twisted the zip
… Yes, I do need to have the fabric facing up this way at the machine.

Then go to the sewing machine. Stay with every stitch.

Sometimes though we won’t be sure about what to do next.

So…we’ll stay at the table, decide on what to try and go and try it …

What’s the worst thing that can happen? You’ll hear me say, “Come up to the table and we’ll unpick … and the least that can happen … you’ll know what to do next time!

Sewing doesn’t have to be scary, but sometimes you just have to suck it and see!
