For the beginner, Level One opens up the world of sewing, ensuring that you are fully confident in sewing terms and basic techniques.
If you haven't sewn in a while, this is also a great refresher level. Before entering the school, the lovely Margaret has a meeting with you, so she can discover your aims in learning to sew, whether they be basic or extravagant, and she can then ensure that each class, each level is tailored to your learning path.
In Level One you will learn to choose a FABRIC, DESIGN a garment, use your PATTERN, mark and CUT it out, MAKE and FIT it.
These core elements are a wonderful base to extending your sewing skills.
Margaret covers elements including:
| fabric | selvedge, grainline, warp and weft, bias, choosing a fabric |
| design | body lines, design lines, colour, shape, texture, form |
| pattern | tools, seam allowance, doing the maths, cut and spread |
| cut | cutting tools, pressing and ironing |
| make | bias binding, darts, seams, flounces and flair |
| fit | balance lines, body types, measurement charts |
Classes start every week at the Brisbane school, so call Margaret now on 0418 874 991 or email her to start the ball rolling!
