Sew for Life

Over the last 40 years…I started sewing pretty young!…I’m sure that I have made every mistake that there could be in fabric choice and cutting and patternmaking and sewing…..I made some big mistakes twice or even three times just to make sure I learnt what I needed to…a bit like life….

I still make mistakes but I can guarantee it’s because I was in a hurry to get something finished or simply… I wasn’t ‘in the zone’. Check if right sides are together…twice. Check if the fusing is about to be ironed to the fabric and not the ironing board…twice. Check if the scissors or overlocker are not going to cut something they shouldn’t …twice. Check for tucks under your work at the sewing machine all the way through every operation. Enjoy your sewing…have a good unpicker.
