If the DESIGN is appropriate for your BODY and style...and if the FABRIC is appropriate for the design... a paper pattern is made. The PATTERN converts the design into mathematical shapes that match the FIT and lines on your body. The pattern is made with the fabric in mind. If the fabric frays easily, for example, make the seam allowances wider. If the fabric has challenges make pattern allowances and record outcomes for future designs. You can CUT the same pattern over and over... different fabrics, different colours, different details. That is why I love sewing - it is a simple process that you repeat for fabulous clothes. go back |
