A gift ... in just 7 minutes

I like to make, or create. something each year to give to hosts of Christmas gatherings and also put into stockings of loved ones. It has to be easy to make or sew. It has to be functional as well.

This year I made (actually I’m still making them) ‘eye pillows’.

1. I used scraps of soft fabrics (silk is ideal). The pieces of fabric were about 12-13cm wide and 43-44cm long
2. Fold the fabric piece lengthwise onto itself (right sides together) and sew around 3 edges (leaving one end open of course)
3. Turn it out the right way
4. I measured out a good amount of rice (lentils work) and a good amount of lavender and filled the pillows
5. Tuck the open end inside and then sewed the end closed. (The first one I made had too much rice and was a bit heavy on the eyes!)

They take about 7 minutes...and they make rest and sleep a bit easier for a busy mind.
